Patek Philippe were one of the first manufacturers to incorporate the Tortue form in their production pieces. Despite this there are surprisingly few known examples of the Tortue model from this period.
Platinum was used at this period as a precious white metal, often in conjunction with yellow gold accents. Durable and not reactive it lent itself to daily life on the wrist.
